Workers First and the Australian Prison Officers Association Welcome Ian Eggins

Ian Eggins 31 year Veteran of Queensland Corrective Services Joins Workers First and the Australian Prison Officers Association

Starting his career at the infamous Boggo Road Prison in Brisbane, Ian learnt his trade at a time in history when Prison was a place to be feared and the men and women who worked within the Prison system knew the meaning and real value of "esprit de corp".

On August 8 2016, we celebrate the 13th anniversary of the Queensland Prison Officers Association (QPOA), and now we also celebrate our Brother Ian Eggins joining the ranks of Workers First and the Australian Prison Officers Association (APOA) and our growing team of specialist consultants.

Ian's new role with Workers First and the Australian Prison Officers Association

In Ian's new role with Workers First and the APOA, I will be undertaking workplace investigations and industrial advocacy to assist members and clients in the specialist industries such as Police, Corrective Services, Security and Investigations as well as other kindred industries such as Customs and Immigration Detention.

Additionally, Ian will be working closely with our Training Partners at the Gold Coast Training College and expanding his existing skills as a qualified workplace trainer and assessor to up skill workers and new practitioners in the security and investigation industries.

Ian's primary role as a workplace investigator and industrial advocate consultant with Workers First and the Australian Prison Officers Association is sure to keep him busy with the growing membership reliant on the extensive knowledge and expertise Ian brings to the table.

If you would like more information on the services and the support Ian can assist you with in matters concerning your employment or any training needs email ian.eggins@workersfirst.com.au or call Ian through the Workers First office on 07 3807 3807.

Ian can also assist you with becoming a member of Workers First and the Australian Prison Officers Association.
